With a multi-million-dollar construction labor budget, the Declaration Solar Project has the potential to create 200+ new jobs during construction and up to three to four new full-time permanent jobs during operation.
The project is expected to provide millions of dollars in revenue to Seneca County, the Towns of Romulus and Varick, and the related school districts, which may be used to reduce the local tax burden or invest in infrastructure or additional services and resources for local residents.
The project will support local communities economic priorities by redeveloping the former Seneca Army Depot and developing new transmission infrastructure in a manner consistent with long-term community goals.
The Declaration Solar Project is proposed by a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, an experienced community partner and the world’s largest generator of wind and solar energy, with generating facilities across the United States and in Canada.
